Many small businesses, especially those serving Hispanic communities in the U.S., close most of their sales on WhatsApp. It’s fast, personal and everyone uses it. But there’s a catch: if nobody finds you, nobody messages you. And if someone finds you but doesn’t trust you, they won’t message you either.

That’s where your website comes in. It doesn’t replace WhatsApp: it feeds it. Your website puts you on Google, explains what you do, shows your work and reviews, and sends people straight to your chat, already convinced.

Why a website helps you sell more on WhatsApp

  • People find you on Google. When someone searches “house cleaning in Orlando” or “plumber near me”, websites show up, not WhatsApp numbers.
  • You build trust before the first message. A professional site with real photos, reviews and contact details means customers arrive with fewer doubts.
  • You answer fewer repeated questions. If your site explains your services, service areas and how you work, the chat goes straight to what matters: the quote.
  • It works 24/7. Your website serves customers while you’re working, sleeping or on vacation.

1. Add a visible WhatsApp button

This is the most important step. The button should be:

  • Always visible on mobile, floating in a corner of the screen.
  • At the top of the page, next to your main service.
  • At the end of each service section, for people who have already decided.

The button uses a link like wa.me/1XXXXXXXXXX. Ideally it opens the chat with a pre-written message, for example: “Hi, I saw your website and I’d like a quote”. The customer just taps “Send” and you know where they came from.

2. Use a different message for each service

If you offer several services, give each one its own button and message: “Hi, I’d like info about deep cleaning”, “Hi, I’d like a quote for a bathroom remodel”. When the message arrives, you already know what the customer wants and can reply faster with the right price.

3. Set up WhatsApp Business

The WhatsApp Business app is free and has tools that save you time:

  • Greeting message: automatically welcomes first-time customers.
  • Away message: replies outside business hours and says when you’ll get back.
  • Quick replies: save your most common answers (prices, areas, hours) and send them with a shortcut.
  • Labels: organize chats as “new lead”, “quote sent”, “paid”.
  • Catalog: show your products or services with photos and prices inside the chat.
  • Complete profile: add your logo, address, hours and a link to your website.

4. Reply fast (really)

A customer messaging on WhatsApp is usually messaging two or three businesses at once. The first to reply often wins. Try to answer within 15 minutes during business hours. Quick replies and a greeting message help you never leave anyone waiting.

5. Send your social media traffic to your website

Put your website link on your Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. From the site, people see your services, your work and your reviews, then message you on WhatsApp with one tap. It’s a short path: they see your content → visit your site → message you → you close the sale.

6. Use a QR code

Put a QR code that opens your website on your business cards, flyers, invoices, storefront and work vehicle. Whoever scans it sees your full site and can message you from there.

7. Follow up

Many sales are lost because nobody writes back. If you sent a quote and didn’t hear back, message again two or three days later with something useful: “Hi, did you get a chance to review the quote? We have room to start your project this week”. Use WhatsApp Business labels so nobody falls through the cracks.

Mistakes that cost you sales

  • A hidden WhatsApp button, or one that only appears at the bottom of the page.
  • A wrong number, or one missing the country code (+1).
  • Taking hours or days to reply.
  • Not having a website and relying only on referrals.
  • A slow site or one that doesn’t work well on phones, which is where almost all your customers will open it.
