Congratulations, your LLC is official. Now comes the part that worries most new business owners: landing the first customers. The good news is that you don’t need a big budget, just to do things in the right order.
This guide covers marketing and your online presence. For legal, tax or banking questions, always check with your accountant or formation agent.
1. Define exactly what you sell and where
Before opening social accounts or building a website, write down which services you offer, to whom (homes, businesses or both) and in which cities. It sounds obvious, but everything else depends on it: your website, Google profile and ads will all use these same words.
2. Create your Google Business Profile
It’s free, and it’s what puts you on Google Maps when someone searches for your service nearby. Fill in your name, category, service area, hours, phone and photos. If you work from home or travel to customers, set it up as a service-area business without showing your address.
3. Get a website, even a simple one
Many people search your business name on Google before hiring you. If nothing comes up, they get suspicious. A one-page site with your services, photos, service areas, reviews and a call or WhatsApp button already makes a difference. If you serve both English and Spanish speakers, have both versions.
4. Use a branded email and domain
An address like info@yourbusiness.com builds far more trust than a free email. The domain is the same one your website will use, so it’s worth registering it from day one, even if the site comes later.
5. Open your social profiles with the same details
Instagram and Facebook at minimum; TikTok if your work looks good on video. Use the same name, logo, phone and website link everywhere. Post real work: a before-and-after beats any polished graphic.
6. Ask for your first reviews
Your first customers are gold. When you finish each job, send them the direct link to leave a Google review. Ten real reviews can completely change how many people contact you.
7. Turn on word of mouth and partnerships
Tell your network you’re open, offer a small perk for referrals, and connect with businesses that serve the same customers: accountants, formation agents, insurance agents, realtors. One good partnership can send you clients every month.
Order matters
If you only do one thing this week, make it your Google Business Profile plus a simple website with a call or WhatsApp button. That way, when someone looks for you, they’ll find you and be able to reach you.
